To scrub or not to scrub?

Body care salt scrub sugar scrub

Actually, the question is: should you use a sugar or salt scrub? Both types of scrubs exfoliate the skin, leaving glowing soft skin behind. The benefits of sugar scrubs vs salt scrubs depend on your preferences, why you are using a scrub and the condition of your skin.

A sugar scrub can be gentler and less drying. The granules are a lot smaller than salt granules and dissolve faster. If you have sensitive skin, sugar may be a much better choice. Salt will help reduce inflammation, kill bacteria and is best for callouses, especially on the elbows, knees and heels.

Having trouble choosing between a salt or sugar scrub? Keep this in mind: sugar exfoliates the skin and forms a barrier to keep natural moisture in while also neutralizing free radicals. Salt exfoliation promotes growth of new, healthy cells and when applied on skin in circular motions, can remove toxins that have a deteriorating effect on the skin.

Our five salts scrubs include all organic ingredients such as Dead Sea Salts and Jojoba oil infused with organic essential oils. We currently have three sugar scrubs and my personal favorite for Fall is Gingerbread, a light scent of orange, clove and cinnamon essential oils.

Regardless of your choice, the best part of these natural scrubs is that they aid in removing impurities, dirt, contaminants and excess oil accumulated over the summer. You can find both in our Body Care section.
