We're busy humans. A new survey delving into the routines and schedules of 2,000 American women (aged 18 and older) pinpointed the juggling act many women face. To sum it up, the average woman feels she needs an extra 82 minutes a day to accomplish everything she would like.
And let's face it, those 82 minutes would most likely go to your 'to-do checklist' for others! I say this often but it's worth repeating: we can only take care of others by taking care of ourselves first.
Repeat with me: we can only take care of others by taking care of ourselves first.
How much time in a day do you have for yourself and what do you prioritize? It may be a bath in the evening or just a quick shower while you listen to music. Hopefully we all find time to be social, laugh and do the things that make us happiest. Sometimes just reading about self-care (mental, physical and spirtual) can make me exhausted!
On the days we may not feel our best, hide your mental or physical to-do list and allow yourself to accept your emotions and how your body feels in the moment. Walk outside or sit quietly, if only for five minutes. Feel your lungs expand as you breathe in and out.
It's not always easy, which brings me to why I focused on Moonchaser's therapeutic essential oils (EO) for women. Not only do we offer consultation for custom-made blends for specific health benefits, but we have focused on three signature blends specifically for women: pain, hormonal and PMS (no need to come up with a clever name for the latter!).
Each EO blend is carefully crafted and is produced in small batches. I want to point out three of the oils that I absolutely love that will give you the benefits you need to help take care of you.
The first is Clary Sage. This essential oil is frequently used to combat depression. In fact, Clary Sage oil has been found to have potent anti-stress effects. One of its most prominent benefits relates to its abilities as an antispasmodic, or as we say in plain speak: relieve spasm of involuntary muscles. Fun fact: In the Middle Ages, Clary Sage oil was known as the ‘Eye of Christ’, and was considered a magical, cure-all treatment.
The next is Black Pepper. This essential oil has been shown to relieve negative effects and symptoms of anxiety. Many users have found this oil to have warming, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. Fun Fact: Black Pepper oil is steam distilled from the crushed fruit of the pepper vine and today is mostly produced in Singapore, India and Malaysia.
Last but definitely not least: Fennel. Fennel EO is known for its potential to have an estrogenic effect, therefore helping to regulate hormone levels during your cycle. This anise-like oil also has analgesic properties meaning that it can help reduce pain, which is incredibly beneficial for cramps! Fun Fact: In Greece, Fennel oil was extremely popular among athletes competing in the Olympic games thanks to its stimulating properties, so that they would gain strength but not weight”.
I can't promise I can help you gain 82 minutes more of your day, but I can help you with your days or moments when you need time for yourself to heal or recharge. Contact me via our contact page if you need guidance in choosing which signature blend is right for you.
With love, Polly
